Caspian Tern !

Great find at Marston Vale by Steve Northwood, present for less than an hour before flying off NW. Bird was metal ringed on right leg.

Evening reeds and another swift

Had a summer plumaged Sanderling in 8 hours birding at Broom - too distant to photograph and then flushed by a visting birder. Reeds taken at Gamlingay pond.

Had 7 Little Egrets over Broom this morning at 0650hrs heading NW.

Also v good numbers of Swifts moving through between rain fronts.

An odd looking sterna tern at Broom GP, small, v pale and with buoyant flight. When perched had v short legs, slightly rosy underparts and almost all dark bill. The dark underwing egde is a feature not shown by Roseate Tern. An interesting bird though....
