Nearly there

Two more days should see it finished and operational !

Side show bob !

Work continued on the trap over the last two days with a complete side now fitted and more of the roof added. We are now prefabricating all of the mesh sections and this is working really well. The final big push will take place this weekend and we are on course for a September grand opening.

Roof truth !

Three more days of solid graft and we have half a roof and a ramp up to the catching box! Its still going to plan for the first fall in September ! Birds have mainly been fly overs, Whimbrels, Curlews and a flock of 10 Marsh Harriers going high SE. The truth, the roof is a ***!

Back of the net !

Today I collected 8 rolls of wire from the Leeds sales office of McArthur Wire. After ringing around quite a few companies I found McArthur to sell exactly what I needed and not only that but they were very supportive of the project and offered the goods at a great price. Even further, the director that I had the pleasure of dealing with is really interested in protecting diversity, a top result! I am almost looking forward to fitting it around the trap, almost...

a week on...

Work has continued on the trap, the roof supports are now in place and the internal central divide has been created, allowing the trap to be driven in two seperate sections. The major task now is to add the mesh, which is going to take quite a lot of time.
