White-crowned Sparrow !
A lazy sunday afternoon was shattered with the news of a White-crowned Sparrow at Cley in Norfolk. Left the house within five minutes and arrived at Cley just short of two hours later. Viewing was difficult as the bird was showing in a private garden in the village with restricted access. After some 30 minutes the bird showed on the drive of the house coming down to seed with Chaffinches - Brilliant !
6th record for Britain and Ireland, but only the 3rd English record with the the last being at Seaforth on October 2nd 1995.
A great start to the New Year and my 485th british species.
