Freezing February fayre

Female Common Redpoll in the back garden today - I am going to attempt to ring the Redpolls in the next few days.

A single Jack Snipe has been wintering on the old settling lagoon at Broom GP, I saw it about three weeks ago but with temperatures dropping to -6.8 last night I decided to see it I could catch up with it again today as the lagoon was frozen. Had good views on the ground and in flight. Other birds seen today include up to 10 Brambling in the garden at home and elsewhere in Bedfordshire 6 Stonechat, 2 Shelduck, Ringed Plover, 3 Barn Owls and a superb ringtail Hen Harrier.
