news from the field - Nov 1st/2nd

Continuing observations at Buckton produced a single flyover trilling Waxwing, a smart Firecrest in the grounds of the hall sharing the sycamores with an interesting 'eastern type' Lesser Whitethroat, a Long-eared Owl and 40 Goldcrest.

Flamborough produced a different Pallas's Warbler to yesterday and a smart Red-breasted Flycatcher both in Old Fall plantation. The eastern Chiffchaff in the top image was present behind the coastguard cottages on the headland and was calling with a single high pitch note with almost a bullfinch like quality.
