Extra time Hobby

This juv Hobby was found grounded in North Bedfordshire and after spending a week in rehab at the Bedfordshire Wildlife Rescue and then a couple of days at the Raptor Foundation it was back flying and ready to be ringed and released. On Saturday morning it was released in the territory of the pair of Hobbies that I have been monitoring and immediately joined the other three juvs around the nest, lets hope the adults accept it. According to literature (Chapman) prior to migration family parties of Hobbies have been recorded taking on additional juveniles. Fingers crossed, we have given it the best possible chance.
