Got a call from Dave, on Sunday afternoon a Little Egret was on Buckton village pond, this being the third record in the last ten years and all occurring in July-August, probably post breeding juvenile dispersal. It was still present when I arrived on Sunday evening and when I left on Monday afternoon. The pond is really low and looks great for a passage wader or two.
